I am a Biomedical Research Scientist with solid experience in molecular and cell biology field. After 6 years working in a biomedical research environment, I had the opportunity to be involved in projects focused on deciphering some molecular keys that regulate human health and disease. Due to my curiosity and scientific interest, I performed an international short stay in The Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine in which I was able to develop a new biomedical research line while learning new molecular and cell biology techniques. Finally, I am passionate about knowledge transfer and multidisciplinary collaboration as well as performing divulgation talks to our society. In this regard, I have been able to combine my research vocation with the science education, collaborating as assistant professor in the Department of Functional Biology in the University of Oviedo.During my professional career I have acquired a great amount of interesting and specific skills which can be summarized in:-Professional skills:Expertise in Celullar and Molecular Biology techniques including:-DNA, RNA and protein extraction and quantification-PCR, RT-q-PCR, Western Blotting and Immunofluorescence techniques-CRISPR/Cas9 technology-Mammalian cell culture-Functional in vitro assays (viral transduction, transfection, cloning, testing of druggable compounds-Solid experience and distinctive technical skills in Mouse handling-Personal soft skills:-Hard-working and goal-oriented person-Committed research scientist and self-motivated team player-High adaptation to work with tight deadlines-Leadership and team coordination -Solid communication skills -Flexibility, reliability and resilience -Fast adaption to new work dynamics

Research Scientist: Phd Student In Autophagy And Metabolism LabUniversidad De Oviedo Sep 2017 - Nov 2022Oviedo, Principado De Asturias, EspañaSince I started my professional career as Biomedical researcher at University of Oviedo, I have worked in several projects mainly focused on autophagy, cancer and aging, specifically aimed to understand the mechanism that govern the integration between the autophagic process and its implications in the development of different pathologies such as cardiovascular diseases or neurological syndromes associated to aging. According to this topic, I have tested a variety of therapeutic drugs that could potentially modify the neuronal response.Due to this experience, I have gained the following competences with interesting applicability in biomedicine field: -Solid training in the use of advanced techniques in Molecular and Cell Biology as well as mouse handling-Development of integrative-thinking that allowed me to build a tight connection between basic research and clinic perspective-Acquisition of excellent teamwork ethic according to Good Laboratory Practices-Extensive training in project design and planning as well as in communicating and reporting results-High capacity to summarize and prepare the main project results into a high impact peer-reviewed publication -
Teaching CollaboratorUniversidad De Oviedo Feb 2018 - Feb 2021Oviedo, Principado De Asturias, EspañaI have participated as a teaching collaborator during 180 hours in the Department of Functional Biology at University of Oviedo. My assistance can be summarized in: 2020-2021 course• Teaching collaborator in the subject of Nutrition (4th year of Biology Degree, University of Oviedo, Spain) – 10 hours• Teaching collaborator in the subject of Animal Physiology (3rd year of Biology Degree, University of Oviedo, Spain) – 50 hours2019-2020 course• Teaching collaborator in the subject of Nutrition (4th year of Biology Degree, University of Oviedo, Spain) – 10 hours• Teaching collaborator in the subject of Animal Physiology (3rd year of Biology Degree, University of Oviedo, Spain) – 50 hours2018-2019 course• Teaching collaborator in the subject of Nutrition (4th year of Biology Degree, University of Oviedo, Spain) – 30 hours• Teaching collaborator in the subject of Animal Physiology (3rd year of Biology Degree, University of Oviedo, Spain) – 30 hours -
Visiting Biomedical ResearcherTigem Apr 2021 - Jul 2021Pozzuoli, Campania, ItaliaI obtained a FPU short-term fellowship to support my work as a visiting scientific researcher at Dr. Carmine Settembre’s laboratory at TIGEM (The Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine) in Naples (Italy), where I successfully:-Had a fast adaption to the new work dynamics -Learned major techniques in molecular characterization of autophagy core genes in the context of lysosomal deregulation and disease-Developed a new scientific research line-Built an international collaboration between two European groups-Took part in an experienced team of lysosomes organelles, improving and expanding my skills in Molecular and Cell biology-Obtained high training in oral presentation of research data -
Master In Biomedical And Molecular Oncology ResearchUniversidad De Oviedo Sep 2016 - Jul 2017Oviedo, Principado De Asturias, EspañaTitle: Tumor cell line proliferation control using CRISPR/Cas9 technologyDuring my MSc year, I have performed a new strategy to modify the oncogenic capacity of several tumor cell lines using CRISPR/Cas9 Gene Editing System. In this regard, I have developed strong experience in Molecular Biology techniques, including:- Analysis of public online cancer datasets-Mammalian sgRNAs design and plasmid cloning-In vitro assays (viral transduction, transfection, and sgRNAs testing, and tumor cell viability)-Sanger sequencing analysis-Mammalian cell culture -
