I am a dedicated mathematics postgraduate currently working as Financial Project Analyst at ICON plc. During my tenure at ICON, I have actively contributed to over 20 studies, undertaking tasks encompassing the entire study life cycle — from the initial proposal phase to the closeout stage. Currently, I manage over $100M in Service and passthrough expenses across multiple studies. My key responsibilities in this role are:Utilising the budget to manage resources, cash flow and help with decision making. Collaborating with project teams to generate comprehensive study forecasts in Salesforce. Regularly reviewing, altering and questioning to ensure we have an accurate financial roadmap for my studies. Negotiating contract amendments directly with sponsors in response to material changes in scope. Efficiently using AWARD and other RFRP systems (Application and excel based) to produce ballparks, Change Notification Forms (CNFs) and Change orders. Working under pressure to meet sponsor deadlines on high priority CO’s and provide multi-scenario pricing when required. Review of efficiency by pinpointing the discrepancies between contracted and worked hours. Investigating variances between forecast and actuals. Working internally to implement corrective actions. Month end Revenue Recognition & Reporting in line with US GAAP.
