Graduated Dalhousie in 2019 with my Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, since then I've worked as a Test Technician at DRS Pivotal Power and Engineer in training at Natural Forces Solar, I am currently working as an Electrical Designer at R.V. Anderson Associates Ltd. I worked with power equipment and UPS systems at component level in the manufacturing process while at DRS Pivotal Power, troubleshooting and helping top design new test procedures while updating old designs. At Natural Forces Solar have put my electrical design knowledge that I gained from my time at school to use in the creation of new solar arrays for communities across Nova Scotia. I also applied the skills I built while working at my co-op at Acadia Management Group at NFS. The analysis and monitoring aspects of that position helping me monitor and create reports for our PV sites across the Maritimes. The design-build projects gave me plenty of on the ground experience and helped me understand the needs of those technicians and other tradespeople that work in the field. At my current consulting position at RVA I am tasked with various electrical design projects from lighting design in schools to designing electrical systems for water treatment facilities. My work here allowed us to help communities across Canada, upgrading existing facilities and creating new ones when needed. I am often tasked with contract administration duties, and verifying technical documentation for accuracy. Working on these, in addition to normal collaboration during the design process has allowed me to see a more interdisciplinary side of engineering, where we are often working alongside mechanical, process and civil teams to ensure a coordinated plan across the project.
