In the spring of 2020, I, like many others, graduated from college and found myself in a world of uncertainty. Instead of road tripping to national parks with friends while getting ready to start an exciting career, I was living at home, struggling to find fulfilling job opportunities. One night, as I was struggling to fall asleep, it became very clear to me that I was stuck in a ditch, lost off the side of the road. When I woke up the next morning, I took a deep breath and told myself to make a change. To take a risk. As I thought about that, I realized there are two things in this world that truly inspire me: stories and adventures.You see, I’ve always had a passion for storytelling. Growing up surrounded by shelves of Stephen King books has a way of doing that to a person. I have come to understand that stories exist to show us things we've never seen, and feel things we haven’t felt. They enlighten and inspire, connecting people and bringing them together. As George RR Martin said: “A reader lives a thousand lives before they die. Those who never read live only one.” Living one life seems so boring to me; I want to live as many as I can. And when I thought about adventure, I realized that there’s nothing more exhilarating than journeying to a new place, trying new things, meeting new people, and challenging yourself. With that in mind, I quickly realized what I had to do. I had to move to Colorado. For as long as I can remember, the mountains had been calling to me, and it was time for me to answer.Suddenly I found myself living in a completely different world; there were endless rocks to climb, miles upon miles of breathtaking trails and cascading mountain streams. And moving across the country, away from everyone I know, without a job, and making my own path? That seems like a pretty great story to me. As I continue my career in the field of video and film production, I'm searching for opportunities to connect and work with individuals who share my passion for story and adventure.I find that a great story is both a mirror and a window. You look into it and see yourself, then through it to find a different world that you never knew existed.Let's work together to tell a story.
