Bungala Solar Farm 1 & 2 - AustraliaSince 2018 I have been working on the Bungala Solar farm project. Built in two different phases of 137MW each, is currently one of the largest plants in operation in Australia.Initially, I was part of the project's construction team, supervising the civil and mechanical works and reporting directly to the Construction and Project Managers. Among my functions were the coordination of the works with the different subcontractors and the logistics team, leading the resolution of the different technical issues and reporting the production progress.After the construction stage, I started to work with the project's operation and maintenance team, taking responsibility for ensuring that the Performance Ratio and Plant Availability contractual targets are achieved.As part of the operations team, I am in charge of the relationships with the O&M subcontractor to ensure the compliance of their contractual liabilities, ensuring the maximization of the performance of the plant's assets, identifying the root cause of the different assets when they fail and minimizing the loss of production time, along with the writting of weekly, monthly and annual reports to be submitted to the owner.

PV Project Santiago Solar 115MWp - ChileIt was a very demanding project both, due to the client's requirements and the number of subcontractors involved (6 main subcontractors). As leader of a team of three supervisors, we successfully completed the creation and submission of the quality dossier for the plant and the substation.My main tasks included writing the project quality plan, inspection and testing plans, coordinating the supervisors, managing subcontractors and the client, developing the project's document control system, and the non-compliances clousure.

"El Romero Solar 246MW"As part of the Construction team, I was responsible for the supervision and management of the civil subcontractors of the project, establishing with them a work dynamic that allowed to meet the execution deadlines in a satisfactory way.Among others, my responsibilities included the daily monitoring of the production, the resolution of the different technical issues related to the civil area, the stock control of the materials, the approval of payment claims and the daily and weekly reports writting.As a curious factor, it's interesting to be noted that until 2016, El Romero Solar was the largest Solar Farm built in Latin America.

“Escondida Water Supply – Marine Works”It was a complex project in technical, contractual and cultural terms, as it was executed by a joint venture of five Chilean and French companies.The works package carried out by my company included all the Offshore works, mainly the drilling of three seabed pits, the installation of precast concrete elements and two lines of HDPE diffusers on the seabed.As leader of the quality department, my main tasks included the coordination of the team, elaborating and implementing the Quality Plan, developing the inspection plans, managing suppliers and the client relationship, as well as leading the closure of non-compliances.As a civil engineer, I was also responsible for leading the onshore construction of several precast concrete for the project, highlighting in this sense the fulfillment of fairly tight deadlines despite the technical limitations of the subcontractor.

Solar Farm "PV El Salvador 70MW"As part of the quality department of the project I was responsible for implementing the quality controls carried out during the different construction stages for the civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines. This circumstance allowed me to obtain a global and technical vision of the different tasks that comprise part of the execution of a Solar farm.In order to impact the progress of the project the leasser possible, I had to develop efficients control processes that, guaranteeing an adequate level of quality and customer satisfaction, did not delay the progress of subsequent tasks.Among other of my functions, it was also included the development of inspection plans, work procedures and the preparation of the quality dossier for the closing of the project.

This was my first professional experience and also my first related with the Solar energy. I took part of several small size projects located in Chile (El Aguila 1), Romania (Cluj 1), and England (Pitworthy), assisting and reporting directly to the Site Manager.Some of my main responsibilities among others,were the technical support to the construction team, the supervision of the works and crews of the company, the logistic and the management of materials and site purchases.One of the main challenges and achievements, it was been able to locate and guaranty a continuous supply of the materials needed in a short period of time and minimizing the impact in the project deadlines, in what they were at time new markets for the company.
