I am a senior Microbiology major at UMass Amherst on the pre-med track, looking for work in healthcare and/or clinical research. Before attending medical school, my goal is to gain patient experience in a dynamic setting that will aid in developing the interpersonal skills that I have already begun developing through my work as a patient care associate. I would like to begin learning how to apply medical knowledge to patient care so that I am well-prepared for medical school and my career as a physician. I also have research experience in bioinformatics and metagenomic analyses of soil ecosystems, as well as experience in basic microbiology lab techniques, mammalian cell culturing, and biological assays. I would like to continue to strengthen these skills as well as develop more so that I am better equipped to apply research findings to my practice of medicine.
