From a young age, I was always drawn to fashion which sparked my interest in pursuing a career in the fashion industry. Currently, I am a senior in the College of Arts and Science at the University of Delaware. My major is Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Business Administration. I am interested in buying and merchandising in the retail industry. While working in two different retail stores, one being a resale store, I have learned a lot about the final stages in a product’s life cycle, it allowed me to see what type of items are no longer wanted by the consumer. The other was a small business, so I have had the opportunity to see how a retail store functions at a smaller level. In both of my positions, I have been challenged to adapt to changes. My experience has taught me how to develop relationships with clients and coworkers. I am a very detail oriented person and am always eager to learn new things. These traits, and many more, I believe will help me be successful during my fashion career.I believe that I have mastered the information that I have learned from classes and have attained skills from working in retail that will allow me to succeed in my future job.
