The Lexicon's internship program equips interns with tools to tackle our agri-food systems' most significant challenges, helping to launch the next generation of sustainability leaders—ecologically-minded solutionists at the intersection of food, agriculture and climate.I actively supported and contributed to the organization's programs through research, brainstorming and project coordination. I was provided with valuable insights into sustainable practices while working closely with the Lexicon team to drive positive impact. I engaged in a wide range of tasks including: editing stories on food systems and climate change, curating target audience profiles for project coordination and outreach, synthesizing important data for several food and health themed projects, and crafting social media content to provide a robust dialogue among The Lexicon’s online community.Additionally, I took a part in enhancing The Lexicon's website design by proposing and implementing an interactive search bar feature that utilizes LexIcons - a universal visual language used to describe food systems.

As the Community Farm Intern, I supported the operations of the FBD Farm and played a key role in growing fresh produce that benefit several programs at the food bank including the on-site Healthy Pantry Center, the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) produce box program, as well as the on-site café and culinary school program. On the farm, I performed tasks that were essential to the farm crop production goals, as well as routine farm landscape maintenance and upkeep. Additionally, I also worked in an indoor setting to wash, pack, and box harvested produce to fulfill the Farm Programs’ weekly distribution goals. Emphasis was placed on sustainable farm practices to enhance the farm environment.
