In this role I designed and delivered engaging multi-channel marketing campaigns in order to deepen and widen Newton Europe’s network of relevant connections and accelerate pipeline opportunities.

After maternity leave I took a short career break to spend more time with my two wonderful daughters. As well as all of the hard work and fun that this involved, I spent time helping local and national cancer charities and writing a book about my time being treated for lymphoma.

In this role I worked in the Tax Clients and Industries team, based in London. My key responsibility was the management of the Deloitte Next Generation Tax Directors Programme; a development programme aimed at those aspiring to the tax director role. This programme involved a one day induction and regular events with different speakers throughout the year, which I organised. In my role I was also responsible for preparing monthly summaries for our Tax Clients and Industries executive group, showing financial information as well as details of recent wins and opportunities. I was involved with our client feedback programme for the Tax service line and had responsibility for the Clients and Industries intranet and external website.

In this role I was heavily involved with the Reading Private Markets initiative and led our sponsorship of the Deloitte Dynamic Business of the Year Awards. This six month project required me to project manage the entire campaign, including segmenting lists of target companies to decide who to contact. My biggest achievement was project managing the Reading office Next Generation CFO Development Programme. This programme aims to help would-be CFOs prepare for their next career step. It is a one day programme as well as pre-programme and follow up alumni dinners. I took over the project management of this programme for the Reading office in 2016 and managed all areas of its organisation for three years.I regularly organised client events which I ran from start to finish. This required me to design invitations, manage the target lists and make the most effective use of budget.I reported and communicated key management information such as wins and bids in progress, pipeline, client feedback, and financial information. This required me to distribute information in a range of ways to suit different audiences.My role required me to build relationships with stakeholders such as national market segment leads, national service area leads and marketing teams. As a result I have experience working with very senior people; balancing the needs of different stakeholders.

This role involved a mixture of compliance and advisory work. I prepared and submitted tax returns and computations for companies of differing size and complexity. I helped to coordinate the compliance process of several clients, including one very large group.I was also involved with coordinating international projects across the firm, making use of my organisational skills.During this time I also completed a three month secondment at a client, which gave me experience of working in tax within industry. During this period I was responsible for the company’s tax return preparation and for management of their withholding tax obligations.
