• A four day intensive teaching and training course on teaching non-native English speakers, including how to design effective lessons plans, alongside the development of educational games, activities and group projects. The training programme also included professional means of disciplinary duties and the German Youth Protection Act.• I created and taught English classes to children ranging from the age of 8-15 years old, with varied understanding of the English language.• I designed, led and participated in a variety of English led activities, such as T-shirt styling, paddle boating and hiking.• All round responsibility was held for the children’s welfare, including meal times, homesickness and small first aid responsibilities.

Regularly meeting with an International student in order to help improve their language skills through one to one engagement in conversation.

Once a week I provide academic one-to-one support with teenagers who have additional support needs and complex learning difficulties. I assist the teacher in the classroom by helping the children with their work, assisting them in sporting activities and generally being there to support the class. In turn, this has helped me gain a broader understanding of the different education levels within societies and the wide opportunities that all communities need to provide.

This job gave me the opportunity to learn how to work in a new environment and culture. Responsibilities included working on a daily basis in a bustling environment with customers from all nationalities, working as part of a team, informing customers of the service, surrounding area and local activities, assisting the operations manager with the running of the business including taking and organising bookings and spreadsheets.
