Before I received my HCPC registration I worked as a Community Dietetic Assistant Practitioner.

As a disability playworker, I worked with children (5-11) during the school holidays. In this role, I helped the children relax and have fun as well as providing personal care activities.

During my placement (sandwich) year, I have been investigating LOX, an enzyme involved in stabilising the basement membrane in cerebral vessels. LOX has been found to have an increased expression in Alzheimer's Disease. In this role I used immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence procedures to compared wild-type and transgenic mice. In my analysis of these sections, I used software such as GraphPad Prism 9, Abobe Photoshop CS6, VS Desktop and ImageJ. I was able to develop upon my scientific communication skills by presenting my research at the ARUK South Coast Virtual ECR day.
