I currently work part-time for a nonprofit that advocates for Deaf/hard-of-hearing (DHH) medical professionals and The National Deaf Center on Postsecondary Outcomes, an organization that advocates for success for DHH students after high school. It is these jobs that inspire me to want to continue to work for companies/organizations that promote/advocate access and equality for those who are DHH.

I published daily articles and quizzes for DirectExpose and Icepop (occasionally other websites too) assigned by my editor, some with deadlines. I researched popular cultural topics to create original content and fact check all information given to me to ensure accuracy. I formatted each article to Novelty Media standards with headlines and pictures. I occasionally edited other writers' articles or updated them.

I conducted extensive research for articles and promoting the website. I created spreadsheets of data (mainly contacts) to make things more organized. Since the website is Chicago-based, I angled my research towards current events related to the city. For example, when Forbes released their annual billionaires' list, I looked for all the people on that list that were based in Illinois. I also searched events to post in "what to do this week in Chicago" that 25-30-year-olds would like.
Over the course of 3 months, I wrote 6 articles for each of the 6 categories the website offers. Each article was geared toward the unconventional woman and at least 700 words. Then, at the end of my internship, I wrote a final, longer feature article of about 2,000+ words. This internship taught me about SEO, source attributions, researching, and how to effectively communicate with my audience.
