I am responsible for product vision, design ideation, and on-time delivery. I planed and executed hypothesis-driven research throughout the product design and development lifecycle, from early strategic direction through post-release validation. I performed iterative implementation of Android games including graphics, audio, and interaction design. I produced successful product implementations iterated based on user feedback from both internal and external testers. I developed qualitative usability analysis from focus groups and interviews. Developed quantitative usability analysis metrics from multivariate and A/B testing as well as action timing experiments.

I performed research exploring gamified methods of distributed data collection on mobile devices and mixed human-machine learning approaches to validating trust of acoustic data evaluation towards biodiversity assessment. I designed educational gaming interfaces for the Android mobile operating system. I implemented a SQL back end to support rapid prototyping with new training datasets while concurrently allowing collection of relevant touch-level interaction events for subsequent data analysis. My initial target audience was children, but has since expanded to include non-native speakers of English of all ages. Users were presumed to be non-technical and my design decisions supported pictographic interface comprehension. I explored usability of choropleth mappings for representing spectral data to non-technical users and designed accordingly. I devised quantitative performance metrics and correlated such user outcomes with their respective qualitative perceptions of performance.I forged relations with members of the University of Cambridge Education Department to formalize interaction goals based on national standards for teaching requirements. I collaborated with international conservation NGO’s to determine relevant training data content for a variety of locales. I built a partnership with the Yorkshire regional government which contributed by performing marketing and communication tasks with eventual end-users. I provided interaction design consulting services, hardware, and software implementations to artist Emma Smith for an installation (now touring) initially @ the Bluecoat, Liverpool, UK. The designed artifact comprises a tangible haptic interface for conducting blind choristers using arduino boards which control servo motor arrays. Here, haptic feedback provides the necessary interactions to conduct blind users who perform a strongly-timed concurrent composition. I Implemented hardware/software interface designs for novel tangible interactions, performed low-level micro-controller programming, and implemented suitable data compression algorithms for low-memory hardware.

Testing included interviews and scenario development and user experiments involving analysis of touch/click level interactions for various identified end-user goals.My UX decisions, when designing the visualization dashboard for monitoring and control of energy flows, included identifying necessary control interactions as well as end-user data analysis and visualization tools which could be understood by Ghanaian villagers, with commensurate expectations that they were not a priori familiar with technical terminology or data representations. I iterated interface designs to overcome English comprehension barriers for scaling distribution to the French speaking target market of Benin.
