Worked for a Chartered Quantity Surveying Practice which offers Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Employers Agent services to a wide range of clients. My responsibilities included cost analysis and appraisal, doing measured estimates and take offs both by hand and using CAD software, involved in tendering for projects, site valuations, attending site meetings regularly, agreeing and making stage payments to contractors preparing and agreeing final accounts. I also liaised with different consultants including architects, engineers, clients to ensure the smooth running of projects. Some of the projects I got involved in included; agreeing of a Final Account for a Cyclical Repairs & Maintenance contract for a large Housing Association in London worth over 15millions. This involved detailing works carried out with rates worked out using a Contract Schedule of Rates. Involved in a measured estimate for a 2nd stage tender process of a 21 million new build blocks of flats for a local authority in London which also includes new build apartments on top of an existing block of flats, infilling open corner spaces to fully enclose the estate and a new build 8 storey apartment block with a commercial unit on the bottom floor. Was involved in a 6 million refurbishment and extension of a college in London. I'm entrusted with arranging stage payments after handling the various variations. Involved in a cost appraisal for a refurbishment/ modernisation project for a local authority in East London. Undertook a measured estimate for a Local Council Authority in London that will include a demolition of an existing former nursery and a new block of flats being built with also a proposed basement car park.
