Responsible for planning, coordinating and managing a variety of events within the hotel, ensuring that the highest level of customer care was provided to all guests whilst abiding by the hotel policies. I have become confident with communicating and sharing knowledge with other hotel departments on a regular basis, through the use of comprehensive function and amendments sheets and function sheet meetings. I am able to effectively use the Meeting and Events database, Opera, to the required standard, using it daily to chase and action all live enquiries and to communicate with existing clients and potential new business. I regularly communicated with existing customers through regular contact, meeting and greeting scenarios and follow up calls to help grow and develop the customer brand. I worked independently, communicating clearly and openly, both verbally and in writing to other members of staff and clients, and I worked in a team, motivating and inspiring other team members to meet objectives and business needs.

Gained valuable experience in customer service, handling of deliveries, cash handling and problem solving, ensuring the customer received the best possible service at all stages of the shopping experience.

The PAL (Peer Assisted Learner) Scheme fosters cross year support between students on the same course, encouraging them to support each other whilst learning under the guidance of trained undergraduates. I have self-managed my time and resources effectively ensuring that personal deadlines and objectives do not suffer, keeping myself motivated and determined at all times. The relationships created through the role meant that I had personal and professional influences amongst my peers and members of staff.

I have volunteered at a number of Events for the Charity whilst studying at Bournemouth University. Tasks include talking to the public about the charity and fundraising and promoting their good cause.
