The Hartman Institute is a pluralistic center of research and education based in Jerusalem. SHI-NA brings teaching and learning grounded in Hartman philosophy to leaders in North America and connects North American communities to Hartman programs in Israel.My role included marketing programs and curricula to rabbis, Jewish professionals, and lay people across North America as well as recruitment for a post-High School gap year program in Jerusalem.Under my leadership, summer program participation rose nearly 50%, Hartman's first-ever Los Angeles lecture series launched with over 1,000 attendees, and the organization saw a 33% increase in followers on Facebook and Twitter.

JewishBoston.com, a project of CJP (Boston's Jewish federation), reduces barriers to entry to Jewish communal life with a special focus on the underserved populations of young adults, families with young children, and those in interfaith relationships.In my role, I oversaw all site content as well as special projects that extended our mission beyond the internet and into the homes of our clients such as "Seder in a Box" for Passover. After one year as Editor, I was promoted to Managing Editor, a role which included managing two other staff members, a cadre of freelancers, and two lay committees. I was also involved in budgeting, fundraising, and all other aspects of project oversight.

YESOD was a network bringing together Jewish youth professionals across denominational and organizational lines for professional development and consultation.In my role, I advised educators working in Conservative synagogues and led small-group workshops on issues including supervision, communication, leadership development, educational planning, job transition, and working with laypeople. Additionally, I worked with the Network Director to revamp the YESOD network goals, structure, and oversight.

Newton, Ma

Prozdor is the middle- and high-school program of Hebrew College, created to complement students' full-time education with Jewish studies and Hebrew language classes offered on weeknights and Sunday mornings.I created and directed a new collaborative middle school consisting of 75 sixth- and seventh-graders from two Conservative congregations, which expanded to two more sites for ‘10-‘11 school year. I also managed the day-to-day operations of the overall program, which served 800 students with 70 faculty members and 10 full-time administrators at its peak. Additionally, I designed and taught a number of classes and co-chaired the annual conference of the North American Association of Community Hebrew High Schools.

Harvard's residential system places adults in dorms to serve as both academic advisers to undergraduates as well as experiential educators. I served from 2002 to 2005 as a non-resident tutor, and then from 2005-2008 as a live-in member of the residential life faculty. My specific responsibilities included operating two student theater spaces, supervising and advising all student theatrical productions in the residence. I also managed a staff of three non-resident tutors.

Chestnut Hill, Ma

Congregation Mishkan Tefila was an 800-family synagogue in a suburb just west of the city of Boston.I was responsible for all informal education and youth programming, supervising four advisers in running youth groups for children in grades two through twelve. I also taught religious school with a self-generated curriculum and spent two summers as group leader of USY on Wheels, a six-week-long cross-country teen tour, overseeing 45 teenagers and a staff of four.

Fynsworth Alley was a startup, independent record label devoted to the music of Broadway with a unique business model that supplemented traditional in-store sales with sales directly to customers via the internet -- in the days before iTunes.I established and ran the day-to-day business operations of the label, including working with our web developers to create a “destination” e-commerce website, handling all recording and licensing contracts, and writing and editing a weekly e-mail newsletter as well as album liner notes and daily feature articles, quizzes, and other content for website.
