During my internship with Elevation Church, my key areas of growth and overall takeaways were learning how to streamline processes, establish relationships with outside vendors as well as other departments within the church, effectively collaborate with a team while still taking initiative as an individual, and the importance of a “work hard, play hard” environment.I worked with the intern class to help execute the annual middle and high school youth conferences of six days and 2,400… Show more During my internship with Elevation Church, my key areas of growth and overall takeaways were learning how to streamline processes, establish relationships with outside vendors as well as other departments within the church, effectively collaborate with a team while still taking initiative as an individual, and the importance of a “work hard, play hard” environment.I worked with the intern class to help execute the annual middle and high school youth conferences of six days and 2,400 students combined, assisted in running Staff Advance where over 400 staff members and spouses came together for a three-day vision casting and planning event, and led a team of five to set up for intern events two weeks out of the semester.I was privileged to assist with events within my department as well. The first major event I helped to coordinate and execute was Preview Weekend where potential hires spend the weekend with staff for extensive interviewing and culture immersion. I was responsible for coordinating with several of the food vendors, making hotel and flight arrangements for candidates, organizing arrival and departure details, and assisting with the overall flow of the entire weekend. Additionally, I helped to plan and execute the first ever ‘Summer Lunch & Learn Series’ where local counselors would come speak to the staff.My administrative duties consisted of projects such as creating spreadsheets, managing the internship program email inbox, restructuring the internship program overview document that is sent to other churches, obtaining and tracking staff assessment scores, and assisting with the onboarding program by scheduling room arrangements and logistics and aiding with preparation for new hire orientation. In February 2018, I started an internship with Gainesville Health & Fitness, a local health club with world-renowned recognition. GHF has been named one of America’s Best Small Companies (2016) by Forbes and was the cover story for Inc. Magazine (2008). My role consisted of assisting in planning the 40th Anniversary Celebration event as well as working on weekly “fit tip” videos and content with gym members and staff. I also participated in marketing and strategy meetings and trainings.
