The Elsevier journal Solar Energy Materials & Solar Cells is intended as a vehicle for the dissemination of research results on materials science and technology related to photovoltaic, photothermal and photoelectrochemical solar energy conversion. In the EERA Joint Program (JP) on Photovoltaics, around 35 European PV research institutes work together with the aim to define and work on a joint research agenda for photovoltaics, that is aligned with the priorities for low carbon technologies as defined in the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan). Moreover, the EERA-PV works closely together with the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Photovoltaics (ETIP PV) to define and align priorities in research with European industrial needs. The priorities for PV research that we define within the EERA-PV JP provide an important reference point for the EU research agenda and for priority setting at the level of the EU member states. EERA-PV also produces high quality scientific reports, and its participants gather regularly for workshops and meetings to ensure a continuous exchange of knowledge. In my role as coordinator of the EERA-PV JP, I ensure the proper daily working of the JP and I act as the main interface with the EERA executive committee, the European Commission, and the ETIP PV.

The IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics is a peer-reviewed, archival publication reporting original and significant research results that advance the field of photovoltaics (PV). The PV field is diverse in its science base ranging from semiconductor and PV device physics to optics and the materials sciences. The journal publishes articles that connect this science base to PV science and technology. The intent is to publish original research results that are of primary interest to the photovoltaic specialist.
