• Underwrite permanent loans secured by affordable multifamily properties for immediate fundings and forward commitments.• Underwrite equity investments in properties that are transitioning and/or at risk of losing affordability restrictions.• Responsible for all aspects of the underwriting process, including: credit, financial and market analyses; review of 3rd party reports; valuation; identifying risks and mitigants; loan sizing; sensitivity and variance analyses; site inspections; and credit committee narratives and presentations.• Collaborate with senior investors, borrowers, developers, construction lenders, 3rd party providers, and counsel to ensure loan feasibility, compliance with regulatory restrictions, and successful loan closings.• Familiar with a broad range of housing markets, loan products and subsidy programs, including LIHTC, Section 8 HAP, CDBG/HOME, Public Housing ACC, and Section 1602. • Over $50MM in debt and equity investments underwritten and closed, providing capital for construction and preservation of 2,400 affordable housing units.

• Led a team of 8 graduate students in planning, policy, and architecture to produce and present a proposal for affordable housing in Salem, MA.• Researched and analyzed the project’s financial feasibility, including preparation of sources and uses of funds and a 15-year operating pro-forma.• Oversaw production of the final project proposal, wrote the executive summary, and master edited the 50+ page proposal.

• Analyzed the impact of concentrated foreclosures and non-profit-owned scattered-site rental housing strategies in the U.S.• Conducted qualitative interviews with public, private, and non-profit experts on affordable housing policy, finance, and community development issues.• Presented key findings to leading policymakers and community development practitioners at a DC policy briefing and the annual NeighborWorks America Training Institute in Chicago, IL.• Authored a report, “Stabilizing Neighborhoods Impacted by Concentrated Foreclosures: Scattered-Site Rental Housing Challenges and Opportunities,” published October 2010.
