Part of a team that successfully implemented a Windows 2000-based Web application for E-commerce, using Visual Basic 6, Internet Information Server 5, Active Server Pages, and COM+ with Oracle 8.0.5 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 backend databases. This application, which was developed for Gaylord Brothers, resulted in the implementation of DataMart, an online catalog for librarians offering over 42,000 products.Designed and developed an application that was geared for email campaigns of sales promotions.

Orchestrated the activities of a software development team consisting of on-site personnel as well as sub-contracted developers on and off-site. The effort required coordination between two concurrent projects.Designed and executed the implementation of programs with the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services using Visual Basic 6.0, Oracle 8.0.5, and Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. These programs were developed with an object-oriented paradigm along with an n-tier architecture leveraging Microsoft Transaction Server. The primary objectives of the programs were to migrate and update the current systems that were DOS based.

Designed and implemented programs in Visual Basic 3.0-5.0, leveraging Sybase 10, Oracle 7.3, Microsoft Access, and Windows NT.Implemented an image storage database program that enabled an engineer to record a live image of an aluminum sheet, assign a weighted value, file the record, and report on the data for later review.Implemented a Human/Man Machine Interface (HMI/MMI) application to help monitor processed aluminum batches where the data was received (DEC MQ) from sensors and stored within an Oracle 7.3 database running on VAX/VMS.Helped expand the development of the company’s existing time/accounting management program.Developed and implemented a program that recorded the output of instruments utilized in the calibration of air conditioners. A weekly, as well as monthly, list of items requiring calibration would be generated.Assisted in the migration and enhancement of pricing/cataloging application. The objective of this program was to allow personnel to input the prices of air conditioning units with their options. The user could then generate a price page of a given unit at any time.Additional responsibilities included maintaining and administering the internal network which comprised of Windows 95/NT workstations and Windows NT servers running Sybase 11 and Oracle 8.

Performed insurance-related programming utilizing COBOL on an IBM AS/400 and IBM System36. Other duties included serving as alternate computer operator performing backups and executing batch jobs along with maintaining Novell 2.12 and Novell 3.11 networks.Assisted in the implementation of a third-party insurance software package for the IBM AS/400. Part of the tasks included creating conversion programs in COBOL to import/export data from an IBM System 36 to the IBM AS/400. Reports not included in the third-party package were generated using COBOL programs and/or SQL queries.Created an agency name/file management system in Visual Basic 3.0 using Microsoft FoxPro and Microsoft Access. This allowed the agency coordinator to keep track of the status of current agents and new agents.Implemented a phone/voice billing/payment inquiry system. The system allowed insurance holders to call and key in their policy numbers which would then retrieve their billing/payment information stored on the AS/400.Created and developed an Artisan Agency rating application. This application allowed an independent agent to generate a quote of an Artisan policy from their Windows 95/98 desktop. (Developed under contract for Utica First 1998/1999)
