I have recently earned a MBA, with a specialization in Healthcare Management, from Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida. I am working to capitalize on management experience developed over the past 6 years, and the academic knowledge from the MBA program, to transition from a clinical role in the Healthcare industry to a business professional career path.I have worked in both large and small hospitals, at surgery centers and in office surgery centers. I have helped start office surgery centers and have been involved in starting an open heart program at Indian River Medical Center. I am a self motivated, hard working individual; a constant overachiever. My work experience includes two years working for a toxicology consulting firm and that, together with my science and business education, has honed my ability to work with complex issues and maintain attention to detail. I have learned to work with people at all levels of organization. I am proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel. I am adept at learning new software quickly, have managed computer networks and am a super user for McKesson Paragon. I decided to earn an MBA because of exposure to supply chain management as I worked with my current employer to develop a heart surgery program. A problem solver, I recognized the cost of special ordering Open Heart supplies and maintaining excessive par levels. I defined the problem, developed and implemented a solution, worked with Materials Management to integrate Open Heart supplies into the hospital system and took responsibility for analyzing usage, developing par levels and managing Open Heart supplies. I was also spurred on by an interest in marketing that blossomed as my employer worked to develop and promote the new heart surgery program. I have developed a real interest in marketing as a result of the course work done for my MBA.
