We are developing a safe compact incombustible thruster for orbit control of 20x20 cm nanosatellites. The main technology is the rapid heating of a non-combustible working fluid. We seek to make the engine as safe as it can be to be stored on a space station or a spacecraft. In view of this, we use water as a propellant, which is heated up to vaporization. We are also testing other non-combustible, safe compounds.Our thruster allows clients to adjust the satellite orbit. The size of the thruster is 1U; in other words, it can be mounted on a small satellite that is larger than 2U in size. The client will get an opportunity to change the Delta-v by up to 35 m/s. Moreover, the thruster will broaden the range of launch vehicles that could deliver the satellite into orbit.
