Develop new tourism opportunities and generate increased awareness of and visitation to the community of Flat Bay from domestic and international markets.Working with a range of stakeholders, researchers, plans and coordinates the development and delivery of the Annual Flat Bay Tourism Marketing Plan and budget for targeted markets;Leads and oversees the implementation of the ongoing marketing activities approved in the Annual Marketing Plan;Negotiates and oversees contracts with regards to tourism development, marketing, and operations;Establishes partnership agreements for shared marketing programs or marketing initiatives;Monitors marketing initiatives and directs implementation to ensure maximum return on marketing investments;Prepares funding applications for additional marketing resources from time to time, and oversees implementation of additional marketing programs to meet requirements of contribution agreements signed;Ensures quarterly and annual reporting to funding partners for all marketing initiatives are prepared to the specifications and timelines required in partner funding contribution agreements;Oversees research projects undertaken as part of marketing initiatives from time to time.

The Traditional Land Use & Occupancy Studies (TLUOS) Project Coordniator will deal directly with all aspects of the study including; planning, administration, research, background documentation, and final report.Most importantly, the coordinator will have control over the creation of documents pertaining to the Mi'kmaq of Flat Bayand their Traditional Land Use and Occupancy of the region. The document will be completed through investigation that brings together community knowledge with ethnographic, archival, and sometimes archaeological information. The documents intent is to provide clarity on places and values of cultural, economic, heritage or community importance. Furthermore the work will be accomplished through the recording of oral history and map biographies in interviews with community Elders, knowledgeable land users, and sometimes a larger representative sample of the community. Information mapped during a TLUOS provides a catalogue of detailed land use knowledge and conveys collective community knowledge of the land. It is this information that forms the basis for negotiation and litigation with government and industry in relation to Treaty and Aboriginal rights.
