About Ivan Belomorski
A strong passion for Great Products & Happy Customers - fueled by functional yet beautiful design, efficient and effective processes, 360 customer journey view and a lot of analytics. This has to be built on great teams in a happy & positive environment. My career began in the Software Product management domain. I spent some brief time as a developer for Android but quickly switched to Product Management that better fit with my character and diverse educational background. I spent several years in service companies working for a broad range of products, companies and different setups - from B2C consumer products, B2B platforms, internal platforms for process automation and more. That experience built a 360 overview of Product Development and gave me a lot of tools, team structures, customer experience but ultimately reviewed a passion for building great products that really solve problems and add value to its users. Throughout the years I had the opportunity to start a few small businesses ranging from production of smart leather bags to B2C artisan product marketplace. This helped me build experience in supporting a business end-to-end, crafting strategic visions for growth, carrying the responsibility of owning a business and build some basic understanding of logistics, marketing and more. Finally throughout the last 5 years of my life I invested into building Colibra - A very dynamic startup that went through many transformations, including COVID-19. We built a very innovative insurance product pre pandemic for flight delays that skyrocketed in growth only to get completely killed in Feb 2020. Our team saw this as an opportunity to innovate once again and build a service where users can book tickets for flights only to pay them if OKAY - after their flight. If the flight is delayed 3+ hours the user flies for free. If the flight gets cancelled they simply don't pay. Within this domain as a COO I was lucky enough to build and manage a great team of professionals in different domains - Development (iOS, Android, Web & strong backend), Insurance product data science, Legal(debt collection), Customer support, Marketing and Accounting. What a transformative experience!
Listed skills include Management, Project Management, Teamwork, Leadership, and 17 others.

CurrentWe believe that in order to be happy one needs to challenge their body, soul and mind. We built a resort around this concept of happiness. The Nest is a place at the coast of the Indian ocean that creates an alternative environment based on artistic & friendly vibe, strong sports focus and scientific approach. We got locked on Zanzibar during the first pandemic wave and we decided to use our time and passion to build a resort that challenges its guests on every possible level. Our team of friends (more like family these days) managed to build a very unique boutique hotel for those who enjoy nature, art and sports.

Our startup went on to create the Smart bag for the modern man. Our vision was to create high quality Italian leather infused with technology to become your smart assistant. The bag features a large battery that can charge your laptop, phone and other devices. It has an application where you can monitor the bag’s state. It features an item-tracking functionality that allows the user to tag his items via Bluetooth LE tags and the bag would notify if you would try to leave a place with an item that you had before. Also the bag would alert you if you left it behind in an unwanted location. Finally it would allow its users to create items list and cross check whether they would be missing something on their way to work. Finally, this bag is tailored to the modern business man. We studied our target consumer group carefully and adjusted the pocket types and sizes based on our consumer needs. We also added features for business convenience such as the bag vibrating when the phone is ringing and is in it. We launched our product on Kickstarter recently. I have been part of this organisation for three years. A group of students and I started this investment projects as co-founders and I had been given the opportunity to chair the club for the first year it functioned. During the period we have been working together we have learned a great deal mainly about managing an investment portfolio in the hard times of crisis. However, I would say that our club underlines teamwork and external communications. For us investing has never been simply about performance, stocks and work.
Vice President
Being part of Interact club Sofia-Balkan was once in a life-time experience. At first I joined as a member and was soon promoted as Public Relations representative of the club board. That included close work and communications within the organisation (Rotaract Sofia-Balkan and Rotary Sofia-Balkan, as well as on District level 2480).During the following elections I was elected vice president which included not only the continuation of my PR function but also taking major part in the administrative part of the club. Some of the most critical values to Rotary are Leadership, Friendship, Lending a hand to those less fortunate than ourselves. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to be shown how your own efforts can and should make a difference as long as you target your positive energy and efforts in the right direction.
