Nasa Micro-G Next Project Lead
Led the team in the development of the Bear Claw, a reusable lunar surface anchor. The team designed and created a 3D model of the anchor per the requirements given for the competition. Then, the project cycle involved the creation of a written proposal to outline design strategy, materials, production strategy, and safety considerations.I led team recruitment and organization, scheduling and making announcements during lecture in order to bring in new members. This would be followed by presentations for those interested outlining the competition, past works from the organization, and our projected timeline. Finally, I was responsible for scheduling the weekly meetings with the team, outlining the goals for the meeting, and leading the discussions in order to ensure compliance with project requirements, timeline, and design philosophy.Additionally, as part of the organization and project outreach, I worked with a postdoctoral researcher to create a presentation for high school level students on an engineering topic. I choose to make an introductory programming presentation and worksheet and made it available in both English and Spanish to accommodate the students and their parents. I delivered the workshop numerous times during the event organized by the postdoctoral researcher.
