▶ WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLEI am flexible, dedicated, and always looking for ways to learn and improve. Whether researching guidelines to update outdated policies to reflect current evidence-based practices or volunteering to oversee patient education, I am always focused on improved patient care and outcomes.▶ HOW I MAKE A DIFFERENCEI am a good listener and critical thinker who is passionate about patient education▶ MY TOP CONTRIBUTIONS➊ Volenterred to oversee NICU patient/family education updating educational information to reflect current standards (i.e., rear-facing car seat safety, sudden infant death syndrome, fevers, CPR, etc.)➋ Became certified Lactation Counselor help my patients when they struggle with breastfeeding allowing for improved patient care and preventing mothers from having to go elsewhere for support and assistance. ➌ Served as a member of the Hypothermia Protocol Team and the Cardiac Team at Methodist Children's Hospital in San Antonio to influence nursing training in these areas of specialized care ➍ As a NICU nurse at the US Army's Landstuhl Hospital, I worked on a quality improvement project to introduce nurse practitioners as a family liaison to help parents understand their child's progress and ease stress during their time in the German-based US facility. I saw first-hand how communication between German physicians and parents improved, leading to increased parent/family satisfaction rates.▶ HOW YOU CAN CONTACT ME✉ ivy.a.todd@gmail.com✆ 571-243-1548
