CurrentDistinguished Roc-a-fella Records producer 'JKey' has taken a break from his role in-house with Jay-Z to launch his own label,Kairos Project: The first album off Kairos Project will feature the musical duo, Re-Newed whom JKey has been developing for over 7 months. Their first single, “Glory” is everything you would expect from Rihanna minus the vulgarity. The project, in general, hopes to promote positivity, as well as secular acceptance in the mainstream media. “What’s cool about Kairos project is the songs sound like Beyonce meets Black Eyed Peas, with a hint of Drake—but they stress positive topics we can all relate to,” says Karen, the female half of the Re-Newed duo.“We hope that the people who listen to our music get inspired and realize there is more to life than the negative stuff that we hear everyday. we have a greater purpose” stresses JAY-Block, the male half Re-Newed.JKey, who has worked with major artists Beyonce, Lil Wayne,Kat De Luna amongs Others started his music career as an apprentice under audio engineer Gimel “Young Guru” Keaton, (Mariah Carey, Jay Z, Notorious B.I.G.). He admits that while it was great learning and working with these incredible artists, he felt a burden in his heart and was drawn back to his faith, after years of being surrounded by negative messages in music.“We wonder why our kids are doing so badly now a days?” JKey says, “ Well—we give them bad music, bad examples, bad movies and terrible role models-- yet we expect them to do well? That doesn’t even make sense! In reality I am just trying to set an example and a standard that lets the music business know that our kind of music [positive pop] is just as good, if not better, than anything that’s out there today. We are backed up by the most high!”
