I wrote copy and provided content marketing for Tech in Asia's Tokyo office. My most important and regular task was publishing the weekly startup funding roundup. Every week, I monitored Japanese business news for announcements of Japanese startups receiving investments. I then select the most interesting, significant, or large investments and write about.

I spent the summer at Vote Smart's headquarters researching biographical information on candidates for the 2016 presidential, legislative, and state legislative elections. I covered state legislatures in Nebraska, Nevada, Massachusetts, Maine, and individual candidates from other races as needed. Outside of research and data entry, I learned to use SQL.

I worked with the Asia Foundation's Bangkok office to come up with a scheme for organizing questionnaires and questions from the Foundation's perception surveys. I contacted regional offices from across Asia, and came up with an index of over 140 different perception surveys and browsed them to determine what kind of organizational scheme would best suit.
