Led the overall vision, conceptualization, fabrication and evaluation of innovative play-based learning experiences for children and families. Managed a department of eleven staff and five direct reports.Oversaw exhibit production, maintenance and remediation of permanent galleries, national traveling exhibits and learning environments in non-museum locations. Oversaw and project managed the completion of final designs, prototyping, construction and installation of exhibits and related programatic activities. Ensured all work was based on best practices, education standards, visitor and community needs. Directed and supervised variety of both creative and production staff. Ensured departmental goals and initiatives aligned with and advanced the strategic plans, priorities, mission and values of the museum. Built and assessed a variety of budgets, and worked with staff to identify risks and opportunities. Capital Expansion and Renovation Project Drove the overall vision, conceptualization, design, fabrication and installation of the museum’s exhibitions during the 74,000 square foot, thirty million dollar, capital expansion and renovation project. Managed over seven million dollars of budget allocated for the ten new exhibition experiences.Provided creative oversight, managed multiple project budget and timelines. Executed and managed sixteen contracts, oversaw the work of ten subcontractors, processed eleven monthly pay applications; and, closely coordinated exhibit work with the building renovation.Served as project manager, led internal stakeholders and exhibit design team through master planning, design, fabrication and installation; tracked and broadly communicated multiple timelines, budgets and progress to team.
