I worked as an assistant to the Regional Programs Officer in the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Seoul. My tasks and responsibilities were as follows:-Draft remarks for U.S. Embassy Seoul's Chargé d'Affaires (Acting Ambassador), Marc Knapper-Draft and edit official decision and briefing memorandums sent up from the Public Affairs section to the Chargé d'Affaires-Create a new public outreach campaign with a series of new presentations on travel and study in the United States and a new informational booklet and interactive guide to American culture and society-Conduct market research for and manage the conceptualization and production of the new informational booklet and interactive guide-Help the Office of Cultural Affairs to create and shape increased outreach with religious minorities in Korea-Help to organize and implement a reception to be hosted at the Ambassador's residence in honor of the Islamic holiday Eid al-Adha-Work with the American Center Korea to implement regional cultural programs, lectures, and presentations-Assist the American Center as a speaker or presenter on various topics relating to American culture and society

I helped to provide translations for a database of English words into Q'eqchi' to be used for a multilingual app for language learning. I also classified each word or phrase into groups based on parts of speech.

I am a member of the 2016-17 US Foreign Service Internship Program (USFSIP) cohort. In the summer of 2016, I received diplomatic training for three weeks and then worked for six weeks as a desk officer in the Office of the Arabian Peninsula, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the US Department of State. My work included drafting and producing papers for senior level officials, researching and reporting on a wide variety of issues in the Arabian Peninsula, and assisting in Arabic translations of news sources. During the summer of 2017 I will intern at the U.S. embassy in Seoul for 10 weeks.

Provo Missionary Training Center

I helped develop a book using Adobe Indesign that would facilitate Spanish speakers to learn the Q'eqchi' (mayan) language by creating a format that teachers could use to teach in a classroom setting. We established the most important grammar principles, then we put each principle into an appropriate context and designed the most effective format for both the teachers and the students to interactively teach and learn the language. Working with another colleague, we finished the project in less than the allotted time.

I worked at IFS 360 and International Fulfillment, Inc. where I managed the inventory and receiving processes for a large fulfillment warehouse. I played a very important role in the transition from the company's initial, smaller warehouse to the full sized warehouse that it currently uses, helping to input all of the clientele products into an inventory tracking software program. I also helped to design the layout of product placement in the warehouse. Additionally, I was the manager over all of the receiving for the company, making sure that clients' products arrived, were inventoried, and were placed into proper locations. I helped the company maintain positive client relations by answering questions and concerns about inventory and receiving issues in a friendly and positive way.
