For this position, I created and implemented age-appropriate engaging lesson plans and activities that are aligned with the curriculum and learning goals. Students received a yearly assessment in which their developmental progress is analyzed and communicated to the families. This position took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, in which public schools were on an altered schedule leaving many students without care during the day. The Boys and Girls Club began offering full day care for students in grades K - 5. As a Youth Development Professional, my priorities included organizing activities that adhered to the COVID-19 guidelines and guiding K - 5 students through their online classes. During this uncertain time, it was of great importance to me that the student population felt safe, heard, and happy.
