Jacinta was a horticulturalist for a decade before completing undergraduate studies in ecology and conservation biology in 2002. Since then she has worked across all levels of government, industry, education and the broader community, largely in project management roles. This experience has given her a well rounded understanding and ease in working with different sectors pertaining to the environment, land and water use. During this time Jacinta completed a thesis studying the effects of water regulation on native fish, with a subsequent research role honing her research and analysis skills. Jacinta most recently completed a Master Landscape Architecture with her work featured in UNESCO Design Week 2022 and was a finalist for the Australian Hassell Scholarship Award (2022). Jacinta applies ecological and biophilic principles in land & water-scape restorative activities in both rural and urban contexts. Her ultimate goal is to equip municipalities with natureful space that is sustainable, beautiful, functional and will buffer the effects of climate change. She also has a special interest in creating spaces for children (and adults!) of all socioeconomic backgrounds where they are connected with nature while at work & play, so their cognitive and physical wellbeing is enhanced, thus benefiting the wider community.
