Instructor, Professional Skills Development
This course looks like a public speaking and presentation skills workshop on the surface, and the methods to deliver this theory are through storytelling and Circle Process. As a class, we set our code of conduct on the first day, determining what each person needs to have our time together feel safe. This allows everyone to show up fully to face their fear of public speaking, a fear that is higher than the fear of death for most people.Throughout the course, I use a number of activities that help my students drill down into what they're actually passionate about, where they're holding themselves back, and how they might like to utilize their passion in the future. By the end of the course, students have gone through an experience where they have permission to just be. They support their classmates, and leave with confidence in what they want to do in the world and why they are the right people to be doing it.
Connecter & Conversation Host
I helped individuals and organizations plan and host Dinner Salons, that engaged attendees, facilitated thoughtful discussion, and created lasting connections.
Culinary Nutritionist & Chef
I empowered clients to take their health and wellbeing into their own hands starting with good food -- delicious, healthy, home-cooked, organic, good-for-the-soul food.I provided personal chef services for a handful of clients, including all the meal planning, grocery shopping, and prep work, helping make healthy living that much easier for them.
Dialogue And Engagement Coordinator, Civic Engage Program At The Center For Dialogue
I brought my event execution experience to coordinate a special project for the Civic Engagement Unit at the Province of BC with the Civic Engage program at SFU's Centre for Dialogue.
Community Coordinator
With up to 250 people coming through the doors each day, my role at the front desk was to build and maintain relationships with each and every student who walked in.I did this through face-to-face interactions while checking students into classes and checking in about what was going on in their lives. The other main touchpoints I interacted and built engagement through were the studio's social media feeds, where questions, concerns, and comments would come through, and the monthly newsletter, which I edited and wrote articles for.
Project Designer
Interior design lays the foundation for everything that I do. As a designer, I interviewed and gathered information from my clients, their employees and other user groups to determine what kind of floorplan, furniture, esthetic and flow suited their needs.I acted as a liaison between client, contractor, engineer, and other consultants to ensure that everyone had the information they needed to act. I also observed how people interacted with the spaces they worked, entertained and lived in, gaining great insights into the psychology of space.
