My role within Sytner is focused upon the development of tools and microservices intended to enable the business in vehicle sales and payments processing. Notable deliveries that I have contributed to in my role have included:Migration of legacy sales documents from one system to another, involving the creation of a Kubernetes hosted application designed to take the sales records and documents from various SQL and cloud sources, map them to the new system, and transfer them without causing undue strain on our infrastructure. With the implementation of multi-threading, this process migrated over 900,000 PDF documents in under 48 hours, with a 99% success rate over the total volume. This project was wholly my responsibility, from initial investigations through to implementation and execution. Real time application monitoring solutions, leveraging Azure Application Insights to detect degradation and failures, resulting in visually rich alerts sent directly to Microsoft Teams via PowerApps with Adaptive Cards functionality. Implementation of alternative payment methodologies provided by WorldPay. Cloud implementations, leveraging tooling and technologies provided by Azure to enable new ideas and implementation strategies such as event driven systems for the benefit of scalability and maintainability. In addition to my role as a software engineer, I undertake the responsibilities of test engineering. As part of this responsibility, I have introduced Playwright to the business as an automation framework, starting with initial demos and proofs of concept to my fellow engineers and leadership, which has since resulted in the technology being accepted as our framework of choice.Alongside the technical aspects of my role, I also undertake the responsibilities of a scrum master. Providing sprint admin and ceremony leadership, driving daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, fostering collaboration, and removing obstacles to ensure the team's success.

My role within Red Bull Powertrains focused upon the development and maintenance of applications, tools, and microservices designed to enhance the workflow of the aerodynamicists and engineers across Red Bull Racing, Red Bull Advanced Technology, and Red Bull Powertrains. Given the variance of work and the scale of the team, we were exposed to the complete stack in regard to software development, including starting from requirements capture, all the way to production deployment.Technologies that I have utilised during my time in this role include the following:• C# 10 / .NET 6 (Including Visual Studio 2022)• Windows Presentation Foundation (Following MVVM development patterns)• Microsoft T-SQL• GIT Source Control• Microsoft TFS (Source control and DevOps management)• Docker & KubernetesIn addition to regularly used technologies, exposure to and use of emerging technologies such as Apache Kafka and Apollo GraphQL have also been a factor in my time at Red Bull.

Given that the payments function is business critical, work is fast paced, and quality of said work is of utmost importance in order to ensure a smooth checkout journey for the customer and protect the business itself via Financial Conduct Authority compliance.

July 2019 – May 2020: HR SystemsMy time working on HR applications centred on the implementation of Oracle HCM, and production of a new human resource management web application, designed to allow Next warehouse employees to manage their shift patterns from either a traditional computer, or a mobile device. My time here included producing and maintaining web-based solutions for third party companies including Baker Hughes and Aviva. Communication was crucial in this environment, ensuring that projects and tasks were completed both on time and to the demands of the client.
