My role principally combines political engagement and writing responses to Government consultations. The work of our team in 2023 will principally focus on the next steps of the UK Government's Gambling Act Review and aim to secure positive reform of the Horserace Betting Levy. I also run the secretariat for the Cross Party Group for Horseracing in the Welsh Senedd, and play a leading role in the Sports relationship with the Welsh Government.The role has also exposed me to a number of senior politicians and civil servants in all three British parliaments through parliamentary events, hosting at British racing's major meetings like Cheltenham and Royal Ascot and attending party conferences on behalf of the BHA.

I was selected to be on the BHA's graduate scheme (now known as the Development Programme) in 2019 and through that I completed a 6-week placement at the Horserace Betting Levy Board, which is an arm's length government body, following a 2-week course on racing in Newmarket.

I have been Chair of my cricket club for three years following two years as the Club Secretary. This role principally involves being a first point of contact for any external bodies as well as implementing my ideas as to how to move the club forward. It involves chairing an executive of 10 club members. We've expanded our membership in 2021 and 2022 and hope to do so again in 2023.

My role was to assist the operations manager and has so far involved working on various projects, working with sectional timing companies and archiving. I also completed a project on the pros and cons of the Appearance Money Scheme in horseracing.

I worked at my local Iceland supermarket and was part of the management team there. I was a keyholder and ran the store mostly on Saturday and Sunday mornings as well as the occasional weekday during trading time. From this I have experience managing teams of 1-6 people. I was also the stores date alerter and was in charge of making sure we were not selling out of date produce. During the end of my time there we were short of a home delivery driver, so I ended up spending quite a lot of time in the home delivery van.

Haywards Heath, West Sussex, United Kingdom

My role required me to go round the community and chase up members of the public who had not sent back their household enquiry forms or were not currently on the electoral roll. I was the leading canvasser for Mid Sussex District Council in the annual canvass after obtaining responses from over 850 properties in my time in the role. After this role I completed work experience in the Democratic Services department in February 2018.

This role required me to travel round as part of a team to different parts of Sussex to go door to door in order to try and get people to sign up to direct debits for various charities including the RSPCA and Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. During my time in the company I was able to sign up over 45 donors and raise over £5,000 for these charities. Role was entirely commission based pay.

Haywards Heath

I have done a variety of jobs in this role including being a waiter at school proms and at the South of England show for a catering company. Other roles included office cleaning, kitchen porting and labouring. All work were short term roles, often only one or two days a week.

Burgess Hill

I worked as a part of the operations team who's job it is to reduce the price of stock that is close to it's best before date and check that produce is up to standard. Although my contract was 9 hours a week, I did a lot of overtime especially during the Summer months. I left this job to go to university.
