I am a recent graduate from Lancaster University, having completed my MSci (Hons) Natural Sciences degree. I specialised within the pathways of Physics, Earth Science and Mathematics, and found a great passion for the disciplines of Astrophysics and Geophysics in my final two years. My final MPhys project involved studying large datasets from the Cassini-Huygens mission, to analyse the variability of energetic neutral atom emissions (ENAs) from Saturn's plasma torus. This involved intense literature research on magnetospheric science, in addition to data manipulation and analysis using Python, Excel and QtiPlot.Throughout my degree, I have developed a multi-disciplinary approach to problem solving and become familiar with a variety of analysis softwares/techniques. My background in both physics & mathematics has given me a strong basis for undertaking intense calculations and derivations, and modules including 'Geophysical Techniques' and 'Lasers + Applications' allowed me to see direct applications of science to industry.Outside of my studies, I have worked part-time as a GCSE & A-Level tutor for 4 years. This involved helping increase students' confidence and light a passion in them for pursuing science as a career path. Throughout my time, I tutored students in Mathematics, Physics and Geography, helping students reach their set targets, and meet entry requirements for their desired institutions. I enjoyed this position greatly, and developed important inter-personal skills, as well as experience in science communication.My experiences have made me an analytically-minded, outgoing scientist, who would love to make a positive impact on the world. I am now working as a Trainee Archaeological Geophysicist, using my knowledge of geophysics and magnetism to conduct heritage and agricultural surveys.
