I have led and re-organized a region handling program business for general agents across the central part of the United States as well some direct programs written at a retail level across the country. I overhauled the business portfolio to grow both revenue and profit by adding three new programs, initiating aggressive actions on margin challenged programs, and growing those programs that are profitable. In addition, I led an extensive change management program to improve the workflows and efficiency, added, coached, and trained staff, improved underwriting quality and consistency, and aligned the culture and values of the region with those of the broader company. During my time in this position, the region's revenue increased 20% and margins increased to well above company target ROE's and efficiency increased as we wrote 20% more revenue with 30% fewer staff.

I led and developed the staff and business across two of three Xpresscenters which handled the underwriting, processing, and customer service for smaller technology accounts for customers in the central and western portions of the US. One of the Xpresscenters was located in St. Paul, MN. and the other in San Francisco, CA. Both Xpresscenters grew very quickly and I led the ongoing talent acquisition, coaching, and training of underwriting staff across both centers. I also overhauled the workflows as the centers grew in size in order to become more efficient and improve customer service. I successfully operated in a complex environment of rapid growth in an environment requiring high operationalization, and complex matrixed customer service relationships with our underwriting offices in the field, dedicated salespeople, and directly with agents and brokers.

I coached, trained, and developed a staff of 7 underwriters. I developed deep broker and agency relationships as well as direct relationships with large accounts which resulted in the highest business retention metrics in the country. In order to improve efficiency, I took the initiative to designate two indviduals to handle small technology accounts which grew into a team and then grew into my leading the newly designated St. Paul and San Francisco Xpresscenters handling small technology accounts for two-thirds of the country.
