Solo watch keeping officer in charge of 8-12 watch, I have navigated all over the world in some of the busiest and most challenging areas such as Gibraltar, Singapore and Messina straights multiple times as well as months of coastal navigation around Japan, Vietnam and China. I have prepared the bridge for many busy arrivals and departures and been in charge of many mooring and anchoring teams in various conditions. I was the officer in charge of LSA, it is a hands on role and you could often find me greasing and stenciling on deck. I gained a lot of knowledge on routine maintenance and inspections required by SOLAS and Bahamas Law, I like to take care when carrying out inspections and make sure they are done properly, I have an eye for detail which ensured the condition of LSA on board was always much better at the end of my contracts than the start. My emergency duties were fire team leader and rescue boat coxswain. One of my favorite activities was taking out the jet propelled rescue boats. I have taken part in many inspections for Flag, Port States, Class, USCG and PSSC - I always feel confident in my ability as well as equipment during these.
