I utilize tools such as sales numbers and shopping trends to merchandise and organize my department accordingly. This was a strategy that in 6 months put me in competition with other athletic departments that have been up and running for years within the company. I also had the task of setting sales, margin and ROI goals for months to come, based on current year trends and archived sales/inventory information. Replenishment and purchase orders were handled on a weekly basis to keep shelves full and catered to my customer's needs. Also I am a strong believer in creating events to get people into the store, wether it be my weekly run club or a bike mechanic clinic to the public, getting traffic in the department is key to meeting sales goals as well as peer to peer events that spread the word person to person.
