So Protection plus security has lost many shop contracts in Cairns. I am officially on board with MA, Protection Plus workload is cutting down. You need to be where the stable work is. Duites will be basically the same as with protection plus, ensuring there is no drama in the shops and supermarkets and to deal with incidents (abuse to customers/shoplifting etc)

Am currently in the process of obtaining my cert III in education support. Should be a nice change as it will be not so much night time work (security) and getting dusty and dirty (the fence warehouse). This course is definitely opening up my mind as to what's involved in working in education system. Looking forward to experiencing helping and inspiring high school students. Will definitly be worth a try.

The work i do is pretty much the same as before, it all involves meeting the demands of interested customers, customers who are interested in housing/fence products, from loading their vehicles with fence products in an effective way, to at least making the effort to find the products they are searching for, to creating pallets of fence products for customers to collect. Was doing guarding at shops and supermarkets but MA security has taken the contract, for now and I don't know what will happen in the future yet, I am mostly doing overnight work Midnight to 4am guarding on the streets, making sure there is no drama on the streets or at the taxi rank. I must say, despite the midnight start, i'm enjoying it as its good to change it up a little bit. Mostly doing street stuff for protection plus at the moment.

Its the same sort of work as what i was doing at trinity green, but more hours. Less boredom in the week and boredom is one of the worst things in the world. What I do, is gardening duties. I keep gardens in cairns in good condition by mowing, cutting trees etc.

Working in gardening and landscaping these days. A good change from bananas/farm work. It was a fairly busy job when I started, but hours dropped right back because of virus. I was forced to go on jobseeker because pretty much all my income was going to my rent, not fun. The workload picked up a little when restrictions eased, but it still wasnt as busy as what it was. I was forced to go to another company. Its great to work with good people, but you need to be where the work is, thats life.

It was a weekend job. Friday and Saturday nights washing dishes, preparing food, helping customers. I got into a 2nd job because I got sick of sitting at home being bored on the weekends. Thats one of the crappy things about Innisfail, so little activity and life. Cairns can get boring to, but if you're not working on the weekend, theres places you can go and things you can look at, at least. Why has Innisfail gone so far backwards?? I had a role In sending the tasty bananas down to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and occasionally Adelaide. I was on the first farm for 7 years, where in the end, I felt things had gotten too weird and political. Its a pretty awful feeling to do your job for so well for such a long time and suddenly you're being treated like dirt. I knew I had to get out for my own mental health, so I went to another farm and everything was fine there. I worked in the kitchen. A lot of cleaning, breading up chicken, cooking it and organizing the chicken to get put away. The chicken needs to be stored with old stuff in front new at the back. I do wish kfc would employ more people my age to work there on weekends and evenings as I find it would be a good way to keepy busy and make some extra dollars on a weekend.
