As a Graduate Analyst working within EMEA Portfolio Services, Events Creation, my roles and responsibilities are split between both my Graduate and Event Creation commitments respectively. Events Creation - Key Responsibilities:• Analysing and facilitating the creation of Corporate Action (CA) events for the EMEA markets on behalf of our underlying clients and shareholders. Examples include key dividend announcements for FTSE 100 securities as well as high risk and complex CA events across European financial markets. • Servicing and processing market announcements via SWIFT messaging from over 50 European banking and financial institutions including the London Stock Exchange, CREST and Sub-custodian banks for both UK and Global CA events. • Communicating with a wide range of individuals, teams and markets to ensure accurate and prompt facilitation of announcement details. • Respond to and action client requests and queries with intra-day deadlines to deliver a high-quality service and meet both departmental and client objectives. • Complete essential daily operational reports and checks to meet audit and regularity requirements and standards including OFAC.Graduate Analyst: Key Responsibilities• Collaborating with senior management and other stakeholders to better utilise a government approved levy for internal apprenticeships to upscale employees across all departments within BNY Mellon Manchester. • Working closely with Portfolio Services management to review both consistency and the standard of SWIFT message types from our sub-custodian banks to ensure effective communication and strong relationships. • Acting as a consultant for multiple internal clients to push forward BNY Mellon diversity and ESG initiatives including a research project to analysis BNY Mellon’s current and future environment goals such as committing to Net-Zero, in line with the Paris Agreement targets.

A year in industry during degree studies with the Finance and Global Logistics Team.- Collaborating with multiple Cost Centres to both raise and push through CAPEX requirements worth £2.4 million.- Creating and analysing an Annual Review of the department’s financial and logistics performance for FY17/18.-Project management experience acquired in a project for the consolidation and creation of a new facility, a £20 million on-site Global Service Operational Centre, assisting the move and finalisation of the facility, completed Easter 2018.- Working with a small group to roll out the project, including training employees, working with customers and suppliers externally, getting approval for CAPEX and purchasing of equipment and machinery.- Working with the budgeting team to allocate the budget and ensure that all spending was accounted for.- Involved in the entire project lifecycle from blueprint to the final opening of the facility.- Also worked on a project with a team carrying out a high-level overviews, collating information from different sources in the company, to create a dataset and condense it into a user-friendly format for presentation to senior management.

- Carrying out extensive market research on competitors within the industry for detailed presentations.- Collaborating with other members of the firm to help kick start the business by attending network events and other client functions.- Developing a marketing strategy for the business and creating ideas for a new website as well as other advertising campaigns.
