• My role at JIOC is to run a telecommunication station on Dongyin island and to secure/maintain communications between Taiwan and Dongyin. The followings are some details of my role:
• Scheduled and managed scramblers, video systems, broadcast systems, cable communications systems, multi-channel wireless communications units, and fiber-optic communications equipment for high-level national defense.
• Maintained all military communication lines on the island of Dongyin communicating with Taiwan, including wired and wireless communication
• Maintained and repaired equipment in the communications station, including major communications equipment, spare communications equipment, lines, antennas, safety systems and power systems
• Conducted training for new recruits on communications equipment
