I am a composer and intermedia artist with a wide range of experience working with multimedia digital and analog technologies, teaching music technology and composition, and curating musical events. I aim to serve as an advocate for experimental music, mobilizing active, dynamic, and open-minded discourse and listening.My compositions have been showcased at a variety of festivals, domestically and internationally. My artistic output ranges from scored works for acoustic ensembles to intermedia work featuring light fixtures, ultrasound, analog synthesizers, 16mm film, computers kept at 5% battery, generative notation systems, and more. I have also worked on sound for video and film, including sound design for The Settler, a short that premiered at Woodstock.I have collaborated with artists across genres and art forms, ranging from my work with composer/pianist Liam Kaplan on a piece for two Disklaviers for TIMARA's Kaleidosonic festival to members of Oberlin's cinema studies department in WALL//SMEAR\\WINDOW, a public outdoor installation bringing together composers and filmmakers. At Oberlin, taught a for-credit course on avant-garde music based outside of Western Europe and the US, which covered a variety of topics ranging from noise in Southeast Asia to electroacoustic music in Latin America. I’ve also taught experimental music to high schoolers and 3rd-5th grade girls in summer workshops, and have 5 years of experience teaching music technology and composition lessons to undergraduates.At Oberlin, I curated over 150 listening sessions for experimental music, which have been described by student testimonials on TIMARA's website as cornerstones of their educational experiences. Additionally, I served as the treasurer for Oberlin's Modern Music Guild, an organization dedicated to booking experimental music groups, where I secured over $36,000 of funds. As treasurer of MMG, I booked many performing artists ranging from composer/performer collectives such as Ensemble Pamplemousse to solo artists such as John Wiese, and organized a concert of the chamber work of Pulitzer-winning composer Raven Chacon.
