I am a nuclear-structure physicist with a particular interest in performing gamma-ray spectroscopy on exotic nuclei. My PhD thesis work involved the use of the novel recoil-beta tagging technique to identify excited states in the extremely neutron-deficient nuclide 74Sr. I have experience working with semiconductor detectors, gas detectors and scintillation detectors. I have worked closely with detector development, performing a redesign of the University of York tube (UoYtube) charged-particle veto array. I have experience working with digital data-acquisition systems.

I then used the newly enhanced set up to investigate excited states in the extremely exotic nucleus, 74Sr. Alongside this research, I analysed data from a Gammasphere experiment performed at Argonne National Laboratory, searching for the two-photon decay of the first excited state in 98Mo.
