These assets are typically viaducts, bridges, and earthworks. The assets are in an area to the southeast of Birmingham, UK and interface with existing utilities, highways as well as other third-party assets. These assets are on the HS2 rail line in a sector called Sublot 5S. As an example of the complexity, one asset is crossing over the M6 Motorway, and another is crossing the M42 Motorway. The value of the assets within the Sublot are currently £110m.I am accountable and responsible for the Sublot performance including the performance of all resources within the global team. The team consists of various engineering teams across 18 technical disciplines as well as project controls (planning and commercial), project management, and assurance. I regularly present to the C-Suite, internal project leads and external parties at all levels. As part of this role, I was requested to present at an early careers conference with over 200 attendees, as a “success story” for others.In 2024 the Sublot 5 South project team was shortlisted for the best company project team at the annual Excellence Awards held in Nov-24. I am a member of the senior leadership team within the DJV. I am responsible for implementing the assurance process, developed by the central assurance team, into the Sublot project teams. I am responsible for the implementation strategy. I am responsible for the cost codes for the central assurance team and therefore the budget and organisation/resources. I regularly report to the DJV client and end client. I manage and resolve issues with the assurance senior management team of the DJV, client and end client in an Integrated Project Team (IPT) setup. I regularly brief the IPT on assurance delivery recording key risks and proposed mitigations. Within the project there is a matrix setup which results in me having a dotted functional management reporting line into 20+ assurance leads/coordinators that work within the Sublot teams. I work with the Information Management (IM) Team to develop Power BI dashboard tools for reporting. I use these tools to report to the client on a regular basis. I regularly support with interviewing potential candidates to add to the project teams & Systra business. This includes management, from time to time, of members of the central assurance team. I regularly prepare processes to assist the Sublot teams in their delivery of assurance. From an organisation perspective I am a member of the top 20 senior managers of the DJV that in total consists of 1,700+ colleagues. Additionally, I have been selected to complete the DJV Learning in Partnership Management Programme for DJV Leaders delivered by Ernst & Young (EY).
