Social OfficerUq Cesa (Civil Engineering Student Association) Oct 2022 - Oct 2023As the Social Officer at UQ CESA, I led the organisation of the biggest events on our yearly calendar. Organising these events involved liaising with various professionals including venue managers, photographers, entertainers, and more. It also required regular communication with my President, Secretary, Treasurer, Media Officer, and executives from other societies to ensure that financial and marketing goals were met while also ensuring that the event satisfied the needs of all parties involved.I was also expected to organise and chair various meetings for the events that I am leading.I exceeded the expectations of my role by implementing various new ideas. The first of these was the founding of a casual Civil Engineering student community group with an accompanying group chat, and the second was an anonymous feedback form in our study space for members of our community to share their thoughts of the club. I then made sure to share all the feedback in our executive meetings to ensure that the opinions of our community were heard. These additions significantly improved the culture of our club.I also regularly assisted other club executives within UQ CESA and the wider engineering community with the organisation and planning of their events. This ranged from setting up in preparation for events, to greeting students and industry representatives, to consulting on major social events for other clubs within the engineering faculty. My aim as the Social Officer at UQ CESA was to create a fun environment for the Civil Engineering student community to unwind from the stresses of life and academics, and my efforts undoubtedly improved the university experience for our members.Following a highly successful and rewarding year in this role, I was elected as the next UQ CESA President
