Gained a very good understanding of research and project management through my previous roles as apprentice and Research Executive. This new position exposed me to larger and more demanding projects. Ran multi-country studies and very large face to face projects at this level, handling a lot of client requests and delivering fieldwork and results on time. At certain points, up to 10 projects (trackers and ad hoc) were managed.Managed complicated hall tests and events research, alongside the more standard telephone, face-to-face and online research methodologies. Involved in questionnaire workshops, pitches and proposals, in addition to reporting on findings internally and to end clients.Standardised and provided time and cost savings in the processes through the use of Excel macros and templates. Implemented processes which allowed us to feed back to clients more accurately on costs and questionnaire lengths and designs.

Successfully completed the apprenticeship and was offered the position of Research Executive. Skipped out both Research Assistant and Junior Research Executive roles, as it was felt I was more RE level.In this position I learned to manage larger projects independently, as well as implementing a number of time saving efficiencies within the client services team through the use of Excel macros.

Carried out various tasks across the business as part of the apprenticeship to help gain very broad experience. Assisted the field team, research assistants, project managers and the marketing department. This allowed me to see exactly what area of the business I was most interested in and go down a career route that was tailored to me.Implemented an Excel macro toolbar which helped the research assistants to save up to as much as 50% of their time on some common tasks. Finalist for two awards, the KEiBA 'Apprenticeship of the Year Award' and the Kent Chamber Commerce Young Person in Business award.

While finishing my A Levels, I was a telephone interviewer during the evenings and weekends. It helped gain an understanding of how market research works from the front line, which I can take into working life as a project manager. Because of the experience gained I'm able to read questionnaires and see exactly what will and won't work out in the field.

Kitchen porter in a pub from a young age. Held this job up until the pub changed hands and brought in new staff. The job taught the basic principles of working life, as well as customer service skills and taking pride in your work.
