Founder And Co-Chair Of Student Labor Rights Movement
• Founded and co-chaired Payment for Placements at Indiana University (P4P at IU), a labor rights movement which demands that students be paid for required internships• Led the creation of a year-long strategy including recruiting members, ratifying a mission statement, establishing communication channels, gathering data, and designing an escalation strategy to challenge the Indiana University administration• Recruited 100+ members within a three month period• Engaged members in discussions online and facilitated weekly in-person meetings• Created a comprehensive survey completed by 245 students to gather quantitative and qualitative data detailing the unjust financial & emotional burdens of unpaid internships• Organized a public forum attended by 150+ students that presented survey data, student testimonies, and demands for policy change to the dean and administration• Negotiated with dean and university leadership, achieved guarantees the administration will start an investigation and provide monthly updates to the student body
