I was hired as a Supervisor responsible for 150 sales accounts in the company’s 12th largest territory, and a route driver. Sales were increased in my territory by 30 percent within the first month, and by an average of 10 percent in the following 8 months. This volume necessitated hiring a second route driver. My territory subsequently elevated from 12th position to 1st position within 15 months and remained at that level until my departure from the company. In September of 1986 I was promoted to an open Area Manager position. My responsibilities were increased to managing 3 Supervisors that maintained an area containing over 450 accounts and 7 route drivers. Daily duties included sales projections, customer contact, and cold sales. Weekly duties included product promotions, sales meetings, and staff training. Monthly duties included product projections, staff evaluations, and sales reports.
