Passionate about social integration, community development and delivering great services to people that need them. I currently lead a team of 15 delivering a large scale change programme supporting the expansion and improvement of St John Ambulance's Youth provision in England. I work closely with volunteers across the organisation to improve process and practice, develop new approaches to delivery and provide expertise on youth provision. Active volunteer with the Scout Association for over 10 years, with experience in County teams supporting 14 - 18 programme development and delivering large scale scouting events. Currently leading a local unit supporting 10- 14 year olds. Previously worked in the "National Citizen Service" programmes team at The Challenge, a social integration charity. Managed the operational delivery of the NCS in Bradford, set up community partnerships to deliver third sector social action projects, and responded to incidents and safeguarding concerns to create a safe supportive environment for young people.Former MA Post-war Recovery studies student in the Post War Reconstruction and Development Unit at the University of York. Researched the use of storytelling in safe spaces, as a peacebuilding method to facilitate empathetic encounters and reconciliation between divided communities in Northern Ireland. Volunteer at the Corrymeela Community, delivering programmes and working with groups attending the Ballycastle centre. Used Corrymeela as the case study in my MA dissertation, conducting interviews with volunteers to explore their perspectives on the organisation's success.
